Discovery and scope

Custom software development means an application built around one organisation’s own processes, where a packaged product would ask the organisation to change its process. At Isatis that usually means business applications, customer portals, internal tools and web applications. Every build starts with understanding how your organisation actually works: we map the processes, find the friction and agree on a clear scope. The engineers who will build the product sit at the table from day one.

The discovery phase is short: a few focused sessions at your office or ours, with the people who will use the software daily. The result is a shared picture of what we are building and what “done” looks like, agreed before development starts.

Prototype first

We ship a working prototype early. It is running software: you click through it, test it with your team and steer on what you see. Short iterations with live demos keep the result close to what your business needs.

Course corrections happen while they are still inexpensive. Most of what we build runs in the browser: customer portals, planning tools and the back-office applications that connect to your ERP, CRM or payment provider. The prototype grows step by step into the application your team will use every day, in releases you have already seen.

The same engineers stay involved across the whole lifecycle: design, build, launch and support. Decisions made early keep paying off later, and there is no handover gap where context gets lost.

Production and beyond

From there we take it to production and stay on: maintenance, iteration and support. As an ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified partner, structured delivery and information security are part of how we work, and both are checked by an external auditor.

Monitoring, performance and security updates are part of the engagement. We keep improving the product as your organisation grows, and treat your application as a long-term product.

For ST Engineering, we rewrote legacy software on a modern architecture. The first working prototype was already clearly faster, and it showed us where the bigger gain was: the team could add new functionality much more quickly. We built on that base, so new functionality now takes less time to deliver.
