Mental Health Awareness!

There are times in all our lives when things can feel a bit too much. It can be stress at work or worries about our family or health, feeling lonely or sad. But there is a thing that can really help support good mental health.

Mental health awareness should not be a theme only for a day or two. We must be informed about it because it can easily happen to someone close to us. Community awareness for mental health reduces stigma. Mental health awareness increases the chances for early intervention, which can result in a fast recovery. Awareness reduces negative adjectives that have been set to describe our people with a metal illness.

By raising awareness, mental health can now be seen as an illness. These illnesses can be managed and treated. We should not isolate mental illnesses from the physical health conditions, such as diabetes, blood pressure, or cancer.

Awareness is a form of education. The more you know, the more power you have. Knowledge is power.

We all have different feelings every day, they come and go. You can feel excited, silly, angry, confused, lonely, happy or confident and these are small feelings that we all have every day.

What we can do when small feelings are bothering us?

  1. Focus on the positive
  2. Maintain physical health
  3. Develop strong coping skills
  4. Get professional help

The important thing is to try to connect with nature and notice its beauty and how it makes you feel. No matter where you are, enjoy the moment and stay connected to yourself.
